Enjoy the magic of the 60 degree ruler to transform large print stripes into gorgeous table runners! With only five seams to sew, this will be the easiest project you’ll make this year! The pattern includes instructions to make matching placemats, the possibilities to make more than one runner from the same piece of fabric, and an opportunity choose which side of the stripe will be the inside and which the outside! Stash Busters Scrap Quilt
Sun Aug 2
10-4
$55 class fee
Judy Damon
Variety is the key to this lively quilt. Take the Stash Busters Challenge and use up your gorgeous scraps! This fun window-like setting is perfect for a full range of 2 ½” strips that mix wonderfully with something dark and quiet (a lovely tone on tone) to contrast with the strips you’ve chosen. You’ll begin with a few multi-colored focus fabrics to establish your color palette, visually connect a full range of values, scales, and styles of fabric, as well as challenge yourself to relinquish control as you reach into a brown paper bag and use whatever comes out first! Easy to piece, this is a great way to clean up that overflowing scrap basket. Judy’s pattern creates a beautiful scrappy block sashed like a window and framed with a fractured border. Perfect for Bali Pops & 2 ½” strips!
This pattern is part of Judy’s original “Brown Bag Scrap Quilts” series.

Bali Briefcase
(Intermediate Level – not for the timid!)
Sun July 19
9:30 – 3:30
$55 class fee
Carol McLeod
Carry your laptop in this beautiful, sturdy, rectangular bag made from 2 ½” strips of fabric and clothesline. Use up leftover binding (2 ¼” strips can work) for a scrappy look or choose a single or coordinating fabrics for a more uniform look. This is a new technique where fabric covered clothesline strips are sewn together to form a large, flat rectangle which is then cut, shaped, and bound before sewing together. No shaping will be done
on your sewing machine. This project is not for the timid!! It takes a few hours (at home before class) to cover the clothesline with 40 strips of fabric.

Scrappy Log Cabin Workshop for Intermediate Quilters
Fri July 24
10-1
$45 class fee
Mary Bianchetti
Hands down, Log Cabin blocks are our favorites. From traditional to contemporary, Log Cabins are simply the most versatile and graphically appealing blocks. Their beauty not only lies within the combination of lights and darks, but within the twisting and turning of those blocks to develop into the design that speaks to you. Marti Michell has written an enormously helpful book and designed the perfect ruler to rein in those wonky edges and give your blocks extreme accuracy. Discover the secrets of this ruler and we guarantee you’ll find huge success and gratification in every Log Cabin block you make. Great for Scrappy Fat Quarters! (Sorry, this workshop is not suitable for first time quilters.)
